Breakfast sausage is a staple in our house. We always grind up a batch with the deer we get in the fall. But sometimes, you run out, don't have three stocked freezers like us, or have a pound of some kind of ground meat sitting around needing to be used up. This recipe is quick and easy and most importantly delicious! I like to use it on our ground boar burger, which is quite gamey tasting alone, and it always masks it and comes out great!
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb ground meat (venison, boar, pork, beef, etc.)
2 Tbs Maple Syrup (the real kind, none of that Aunt Jemima crap)
1 tsp Fennel Seeds
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Pepper (once again, the real ground kind, not out of the shaker on your table)
1/2 tsp Sage
1/2 tsp Onion Powder
1/2 tsp Allspice
1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp Cayenne (or to taste)
Mix everything in a bowl. Make patties. Cook them. The end.
